Question about swaddle me blankets.?
My son is 9 weeks old. The only way he will sleep at night is in a swaddle me blanket because other wise he moves his arms and wakes his self up. I'm worried I'm starting a bad habbit because eventually he will out grow the large. Has anyone else been through this? How did you transition?
I always used the normal swaddle blankets, the big ones run about 42inches square and will work for most babies for the first 4-6 months. At about that age, they start getting their arms free and not wanting to sleep with their arms in the swaddle, so you swaddle them around their chest with an arm or both arms free. Then it's just a little step to no swaddle. 
I have heard of kids like 4 years old who like to be swaddled. And my 2 year old thinks it's funny for me to swaddle her but would never sleep like that. I think the majority of kids grow out of it by 4-6 months and it's not really necessary to worry about it.
