Couple Baby Questions?
I just have a few baby questions
-Whats a receiving and swaddling blanket??
-Whats an organic blanket??
-How long does it take for babies to sleep through the night??
-Whats it like to be an aunt??
-And whats a cheap, but ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY present that i could buy for a baby shower??
Umm...I Think Thats It
I have worked in a baby room for two years so I can answer some of these questions for you.
I'll start with the most seemingly needed one, what to buy for a baby shower that is necessary...it's been my experience that mother's of new babies are desperate for practical items, such as wipes, diapers, small bottles, or the most helpful gift of all, a gift card to a baby specialty store or a discount store like Wal-Mart so the mother can go buy what she thinks the baby will need - such as formula, or the right size bottles.
A couple of things to know about buying diapers - they are called "Swaddlers" or "Newborn" - the smallest size diaper for a new born - get wipes with a box, not the plastic "Refillers" -
I am an aunt, and it's wonderful - even though my sister and I don't get along very well, I'm thankful she allows me to see my niece, and as an aunt you can kind of play the friend role when the baby get's older. Almost like grandmas and grandpas spoil, well aunts always seem to be the fun, go-to when a secret is needed to be told...
Receiving blankets tend to be thinner, and smaller - meant to catch spit, or after a bath.
Organic blankets are made from wool or cotton without pesticides and are thought to be healthier for babies to sleep under.
When it comes to sleeping, every baby is different. At first they will sleep at all different intervals of the day, but with time they will start sleeping through the night if they get on a schedule....
